Sunshine & Schoolbooks was created to make homeschooling in Central Florida feel simpler, more connected, and a lot less overwhelming.

Homeschool families have so many opportunities around them — field trips, classes, co-ops, events, scholarships, learning resources, and community programs — but finding all of that information can mean digging through dozens of websites, social media pages, and Facebook groups.

Sunshine & Schoolbooks brings those resources together in one place so families can spend less time searching and more time actually enjoying homeschool life.

Our mission is to help Central Florida homeschool families find the information, resources, opportunities, and community they need — quickly, clearly, and without the endless searching.

We believe homeschooling should feel flexible, connected, and full of possibility.

That means helping families discover:

ESE and learning support resources
free and affordable activities

☀️ Why I Started Sunshine & Schoolbooks

Hi, I’m Nikki. 👋

I’m a Central Florida homeschool mom, and I kept having the same frustrating experience: I would find out about an amazing homeschool event, class, or field trip after registration had already closed — or after the event had already happened.

The information was out there. It was just scattered everywhere.

I wanted one place where homeschool families could quickly see what was happening, find trustworthy resources, and discover opportunities they may never have known existed.

That idea became Sunshine & Schoolbooks.

What started as a way to organize local homeschool information has grown into something bigger: a resource designed to help families feel informed, connected, and excited about the opportunities available to them.
